Whitewood Lodges in Coolbawn, North Tipperary, lies very close to the eastern edge of Lough Derg, southern Ireland’s largest lake. In fact we are ‘bang in the middle’, minutes from Coolbawn Quay, Kilbarron, Ballinderry, Terryglass and Dromineer. If you are into boats all of the above should satisfy your needs with great pub/food outlets in these centres as well.
A little over 10 minutes drive away you will find all you need for shopping in Nenagh (the areas main town) and Portumna - these both boast several large supermarkets so picking up any specifics to cook up a feast won't be a problem.
We have two lodges and a two bedroom apartment in the main house - guests (and our Airbnb reviews) tell us they are well appointed and comfortable. We have a private lake at the bottom of the garden (it's compulsory to feed the ducks and swans, so buy an extra loaf), a full-size tennis court (yes we do have racquets and balls) and a large landscaped grass area for football or practicing your wedge shots.
We are Agnes, Tony, Beaty and T.C. Beaty is the most loveable young golden retriever who will welcome you with a waggy tail and stuffed toy bear while T.C. is a cat who will do her best to ignore you while you are here.
If you are visiting friends or family or just want to take it easy in this rather unspoiled part of Ireland, give us a call, pop us an email or click the link at the top of the page to send me a message on WhatsApp.
A special thank you to Mike at Coolbawn Cross Photography for letting us use some of his images!
